What is Shottyz?

Shottyz is firstly a Pedicab (Bike Taxi) Service, but is also a Bike Service Shop with Mobile Bike Repair, Art Gallery, Music Show Space, Arts Organization, Movie Theatre, and R&D Design Studio. We are Artists serving Artists, Badasses serving Badasses, Grassroots making Deep roots. Collectively run and serving primarily the communities in and around Uptown, Minneapolis. We keep bikes moving, people moving, and art involved in the richness of everyday living!

Shottyz Brief History

We started February 14th, 2009.  It was 7 degrees outside.
At the time Minneapolis wasn't enforcing its pedicab laws.  With 2 cabs, we were the largest organized pedicab service regularly operating in Minneapolis.  It was a great year to know that people were into this.  Too many stories to tell, which is why we've made a zine.

2010 - We returned in April, had 2 great weeks, then it was 2 straight weeks of flooding and rain.  Our 1st day out afterwards, 3 cabs, all got fines for no license and insurance.  Big bummer when we weren't notified prior.  We tried to get back up right away and then realized that we were going to hit wall after wall after wall to get back up.  So, 2010 was a bust, and that's all that can really be said except that many people kept calling wanting rides and we just had to explain what was up.

2011 - We pulled it together and are back at it servin' the richness of Uptown.
